* Assisting entrepreneurs in the spadework for setting up industries .

* Monitoring the progress of industries already set up and trouble- shooting for their smooth operations.

* Collaborating for joint-sector promotion of industrial ventures.

* Disbursing capital subsidy on behalf of the Government.

The EDC is granting financial assistance by way of term loan assistance , equity assistance and seed capital assistance under various schemes. The package of financial assistance offered by EDC include project for :

* Upgradation of process, technology and product .

* Export orientation.

* Import substitution.

* Energy Saving.

* Anti Pollution Measures

* Conservation/ substitution of scarce raw materials and other inputs including recycling/ recovery of waste and by-products.

* Improvement in capacity utilisation within the existing capacity through increase in productivity.

* Improvement in material handling.

* Lease finance , short term loans , bills discounting etc.

EDC grants term loan assistance for concerns which are engaged / to be engaged in manufacture, preservation & processing of food. mining, hotel industry, road transport vehicles, maintenance, repairs, testing or servicing of machinery of any description or vehicles or vessels, assembling, repairing or packing of any article with the aid of machinery and power.
