This is a wholly owned subsidiary company started in technical collaboration with Electronics Corporation of India Ltd. (ECIL) & Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL). Presently this subsidiary company has closed down its manufacturing activities and has now diversified in the field of Information Technology comprising of computer hardware, software and other related projects.
Goa Electronics Limited is now engaged in IT related activities like:-
a. Development of software
b. Dayanand social security scheme.
c. Smart card related projects.
d. Computerisation of Government Departments.
e. Other IT related activities.
GEL has developed a wide spectrum of services & products to meet the ever growing demands of Information technology specially focusing on the government sector. Prisons Management System (PRISMS) software developed by GEL won the Prestigious National CSI-Nihilent Award 2009 in the G2C/G2G category.
